Adho Mukha Svanasana / Downdog
Description
Downward facing dog. And how this seemingly simple and most common yoga posture is one of the very moments for us to practise initiating and moving from the pelvis rather than from the upper body. Down dog is not an arm-loading- posture, but it is a core strengthener as well as a shoulder opener and an arm & shoulder mobiliser. Remember to keep your elbows and your knees ever so slightly bent. And to be guided by your tailbone lift to then let the rest of your body follow. (Adho Mukha Svanasana meaning downward facing dog.)
